도심에서 약 30분 정도 떨어진 거리로 총 4개로 나눠질 정도로 큰 규모와 알찬 구성을 자랑하고 있답니다.
동물원 외에는 주변에 즐길거리나 숙박시설이 마땅치 않은 점 일정 짜실 때 참고하세요.

오늘 작성하려는 나이트사파리는 4개의 동물원 중 세계 최초 오픈된 나이트 동물원이랍니다. 오픈 이후 꾸준히 많은 분들께 사랑받고 있으며, 싱가포르의 넘버원 나이트스팟으로 자리 잡은 곳이랍니다.
The Night Safari, which I am writing about today, is the world's first night zoo among the four. Since its opening, it has consistently received love from many visitors and has become Singapore's number one night spot.
입구 / Entrance
나이트사파리는 동물원 드랍포인트에서부터 거리가 좀 있는 편이랍니다. 내려서 조금 걸어가야 만날 수 있답니다.
Night Safari is a bit of a distance from the drop-off point at the zoo. You have to walk a little to reach it.
코로나 시기에는 여행도 못 가니 싱가포르 구석구석을 많이 여행했는데요. 특히, 동물원 시즌 패스 끊어서 일이주에 한 번씩 다녀올 정도로 잘 썼었네요. 지금은 상상도 못 할 느낌이지만, 코로나 시기에는 시간별 예약인원수까지 관리하다 보니 정말 사람이 거의 없었어요. 그 덕에 평일 저녁에 남편 퇴근하고 오면 바로 나이트사파리 가서 저녁 먹고 입장해서 트램만 한번 타고 꼬맹이한테 동물 보여주고 집에 돌아오고 그랬었네요. 물론 지금은 관광객으로 아주 사람이 많아서 상상도 못 하지만요^^;
During the pandemic when we couldn't travel, our family explored every corner of Singapore. In particular, We got a season pass for the zoo and visited it once a week. It's hard to imagine now, but during the pandemic, they managed the number of reservations per time slot, so there were hardly any people. Thanks to that, our family would go to Night Safari on weekday evenings right after he finished work. We would have dinner there, take a tram ride to show our kid the animals, and then return home. Of course, now there are a lot of tourists, so it's hard to imagine that kind of experience, but back then it was amazing! ;)
저희는 항상 첫 타임 7시 15분에 오픈하자마자 가는 편인데요. 햇볕 쨍쨍하게 덥던 싱가포르도 요 시간 되면 너무 멋진 선셋과 함께 솔솔바람 부는데 그게 또 사람을 기분 좋게 하는 매력이 있어요.
We usually go right at the opening time, 7:15 PM. Even in the hot Singapore, it's a wonderful time with a beautiful sunset and a gentle breeze. It has a charming effect that makes people feel good.
동물원 / Zoo
나이트 사파리에서 가장 중요한 것은 트램! 특히 첫 타임에 입장하시는 분들이라면, 트램부터 타세요! 막상 어두워지면, 동물들이 잘 안 보이는 경우가 많아요. 조금이라도 밝을 때 트램부터 타서 구경하세요! 줄이 길어 보여도 트램이 아주 자주 있어서 금방금방 빠지니 포기하지 말고 먼저 타세요!
The tram is the most important thing at Night Safari! Especially if it's your first time, take the tram first! Once it gets dark, the animals are not easily visible. Ride the tram when it's still somewhat bright and enjoy the sights! Even if the line looks long, the trams come frequently, so don't give up and get on it first!
트램 타고 시작한 지 얼마 안돼서 바로 만날 수 있는 플라밍고 무리들. 이동하며 보다 보니 사진 찍기는 쉽지 않지만, 육안으로 보기에는 꽤 잘 보이는 거리랍니다.
Starting the tram ride, you can immediately see a group of flamingos. It's not easy to take pictures while moving, but they are quite visible to the naked eye from a distance.
처음 나이트사파리 갔을 때 가장 신기했던 동물이 말레이안 타피르였답니다. 아무래도 한국에서는 쉽게 볼 수 없는 동물이잖아요? 코끼리코를 가진 것 같으면서도 곰같으면서도 뭔가 정의가 되지않는 신기한 동물같았답니다. 트램 타고 가다보면, 타피르 여러마리가 트램 옆을 같이 지나가기도 하고 어떤 날은 정말 한마리도 안보이기도 하고.
나이트 사파리 트램을 가장 좋아하는 이유 중 하나가 바로 이렇게 동물들과 바로 옆에서 볼수 있는 점이랍니다.
The most fascinating animal I met when I first went to Night Safari was the Malayan Tapir. It's an animal that is not easily seen before. It was fascinating, with a mix of elephant-like and bear-like that defies definition. While riding the tram, you may see several tapirs walking alongside the tram or on some days, you may not see a single one.
One of the reasons why the tram is so popular at Night Safari is because you can see the animals up close.
귀여운 하마의 이미지와는 달리 실제로는 아주 무섭다는 하마도 만날 수 있고요.
Despite the cute image of hippos, you can also meet the real scary hippos.
유리벽이 있지만, 엄청 큰 레오파드가 넓은 우리를 어슬렁 거리다가 유리벽 바로 앞에 누워서 쉬기도 하네요. 쌔근쌔근 숨 쉬는 모습을 바로 앞에서 이렇게 볼 수 있다는 점이 얼마나 신기한지!
Even though there is a glass barrier, the huge leopard sometimes strolls around near the glass and lies down right in front of it. It's amazing to be able to see the leopard breathing up close like that!
동물원의 메인 중의 메인! 코끼리!
나이트 사파리에는 코끼리가족과 산왕이라는 아주 커다란 코끼리도 만날 수 있답니다. 코끼리는 트램을 타야지만 만날수 있으니, 지도 보면서 어딘지 찾아 헤매지 마세요!(저희가 처음 갔을 때 그랬거든요)
The main attraction of the zoo! The elephant! At Night Safari, you can also meet a family of elephants and a very large elephant called San Wang. You can only see the elephants if you take the tram, so don't get lost while looking at the map! (We had that experience when we first went there.)
사자의 나라 싱가포르답게, 사자는 아시아 사자와 아프리카 사자 두 종류가 있어요. 살짝 이른 시간에는 대부분 자는 모습만 볼 수 있었던 것 같아요. 그래도 가끔 럭키하면 멋지게 일어나 하품하는 모습도 만날 수 있답니다.
In the lion country of Singapore, there are two types of lions, the Asian lion and the African lion. During the early hours, you could mostly see them sleeping. However, if you're lucky, you might also encounter them waking up and yawning in a splendid manner.
그리고 기타 다양한 동물들까지.
And various other animals as well.
트램이 아니라도, 동물쇼와 산책코스까지. 실제 동물원 치고는 사이즈가 작은 편이지만, 구석구석 얼마나 볼거리가 가득한지 꼭 구경해보셨으면 한답니다.
Even apart from the tram, there are animal shows and walking trails. Although the size of the zoo is relatively small, compared to other zoos, every nook and cranny is filled with exciting sights to see.
꿀팁 / Useful Tip
1. 체력이 정말 좋은 분이라면, 1) 싱가포르 동물원, 2) 리버원더스, 3) 버드 파라다이스까지 구경하신 후 4) 나이트사파리 순서로 구경하시는 것을 추천합니다.
2. 하지만, 날이 더운 싱가포르에서 모두 보기 힘든 분들은 오후 4시 정도 리버원더스 구경 후, 6시 30분 나이트사파리 앞 푸드코트에서 가볍게 저녁 먹고, 나이트사파리 오픈할 때 바로 입장하세요.
3. 나이트 사파리는 내부에 식당이나 음료 파는 곳이 마땅치 않아요. 간단한 물이나 음료는 챙겨가세요.
4. 나이트 사파리의 메인 동물 코끼리, 코뿔소 등은 트램을 타야지만 구경 가능하답니다. 입장과 동시에 트램부터 탑승하세요! 늦어지면, 조명이 있어도 어두워서 동물들이 잘 보이지 않는답니다 :(
5. 오픈과 동시에 트램을 바로 탑승하면, 동물도 밝은 상태로 더 잘 보인답니다. 가능하다면, 가장 앞자리 넓은 좌석으로 앉을 수 있으면 편하게 구경 가능해요.
6. 트램 줄이 길어도 자주자주 와서 빨리 빠지니까 밝을 때 먼저 탑승하세요.
1. If you have good stamina, I recommend exploring 1) Singapore Zoo, 2) River Safari, 3) Bird Paradise, and then 4) Night Safari in that order.
2. However, for those who find it challenging to see everything in the hot weather of Singapore, I suggest visiting River Safari around 4 PM, having a light dinner at the food court in front of Night Safari at 6:30 PM, and entering Night Safari right when it opens.
3. Night Safari doesn't have many options for restaurants or drinks inside. Remember to bring some water or beverages with you.
4. To see the main animals like elephants and rhinoceroses at Night Safari, you need to take the tram. Board the tram as soon as you enter! If you're late, even with the lights, it can be too dark to see the animals properly :(
5. If you board the tram right when it opens, the animals will be more visible in the brighter conditions. If possible, try to sit in the front row with the spacious seats for a comfortable viewing experience.
6. Even if the tram line is long, it moves quickly, so come frequently and get on early while it's still bright.
