코로나로 여행이 불가하던 시절 좁은 싱가포르에서는 "스테이케이션", 즉 호캉스가 유행했었답니다. 그때 그 시절 코로나 때문에 어린아이를 데리고 어딜 가는 게 부담스럽다며 저희 가족은 집콕을 열심히 했었는데요. 그러다 결혼기념일까지 집에서 보내긴 아쉽다는 생각에 결정했던 만다린오리엔탈 스테이케이션 후기입니다.
During the time when travel was restricted due to COVID19, "staycations" were popular in S'pore. Back then, because of the concerns of traveling with young boy, my family opted to stay at home. However, as our anniversary approached, we felt a bit disappointed about spending it at home, so we decided to try out the Mandarin Oriental Staycation. Here is my review of the experience.

2021년에 다녀왔으니 벌써 2년이나 지났고, 블로그도 전혀 하지않던 그 시절이라 사진도 기억도 가물가물하네요. 그래도 너무 좋은 기억으로 남은 만다린 오리엔탈 레지덴셜 스위트룸 숙박기랍니다. 현재는 리뉴얼로 8월까지 잠시 휴업 중이라고 하니 리뉴얼후에는 더 좋아지겠네요.
It's already been two years since I visited in 2021, and those were the days when I didn't even have a blog, so the photos and memories are a bit fuzzy. However, I can still recall my stay at the Mandarin Oriental Oriental Residential Suite, which left me with wonderful memories. Currently, they are temporarily closed for renovation until August, so I'm sure it will be even better after the renovation.

In the case of Mandarin Oriental, there wasn't a significant price difference between booking sites like Agoda and the official website. If you become a member of MO, Fan's of MO, and book through the official website, you can choose one member benefit such as room upgrade, welcome gift, or late checkout, depending on the room availability. So, I recommend booking through the official website.
위치 / Location
마리나베이가 한눈에 보이는 마리나 스퀘어에 위치해있답니다. 싱가포르의 필수 코스 마리나베이, 가든바이더베이, 싱가포르 플라이어 등 bay area는 도보로 모두 이용 가능하며, 오차드, 부기스, 차이나타운 등 도심 관광지의 경우 버스로 가까운 거리에 위치해 있답니다.
It is located in Marina Square, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Marina Bay. The essential attractions in S'pore, such as Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay, and the Singapore Flyer, are all within walking distance. Even Orchard Road, Bugis, and Chinatown, which are popular city tourist spots, are also conveniently located nearby and accessible by bus.
저녁에는 슬슬 걸어서 싱가폴 야경 맛집 산책하고요. 아침 일찍 일어나 운동하기도 좋은 곳이랍니다. 실제로 아침에 나가면 아침운동하는 분들도 많은 곳이에요!
In the evening, it's nice to take a leisurely walk and enjoy the scenic spots in S'pore. It's also a great place to wake up early and exercise in the morning. In fact, if you go out in the morning, you'll see many people engaging in morning workouts in that area!
체크인 / Check-in
저희가 갔던 날은 하늘이 유난히 맑은 날이었답니다! 뭐 물론 싱가포르의 하늘은 대부분 맑긴 하지만요^^;
The day we went was exceptionally clear, with a beautiful sky! Well, of course, S'pore's sky is mostly clear, but still, it was a lovely sight to behold. ^^
체크인은 생각보다 꽤 오래 걸렸어요. 여행객이 없는 팬데믹 스테이케이션이라서, 실제 싱가포르 거주자들만 숙박이 가능했을 때였거든요. 그래서 현지 아이디와 주소도 확인하고, 멤버십 관련해서 처리할 것들도 있고 해서 20-30분 정도 걸렸던 것 같아요. 그 사이 동양미 가득 느껴지는 로비에서 꼬맹이랑 사진도 한 장 찍었었네요. 벌써 2년 전이라 저희 꼬맹이도 애기애기했네요ㅠㅠ
The check-in process took longer than expected. It was during the pandemic when only Singapore residents were allowed to stay in the hotel for the staycation, with no other tourists. So they had to verify the local ID and address, as well as handle membership-related matters, which took about 20-30 mins. During that time, we took a photo with my boy in the lobby, which had a strong Eastern atmosphere. It's hard to believe it was already 2 yrs ago, and my kid was so young back then.:(
침실 및 침구 / Bedroom and Bedding
공홈에서 예약할 때 미리 5주년 결혼기념일이라고 남겨놨더니, 축하 케이크와 함께 귀여운 풍선도 준비해 주셨답니다. 여기서 사진도 손수 찍어주셨고요:)
When I made the reservation on the official website, I mentioned in advance that it was our 5th anniversary. As a surprise, they prepared a congratulatory cake and adorable balloons for us. They even took a picture for us :)
FAN'S OF MO라는 만다린 오리엔탈의 회원가입을 하셨다면, 체크인할 때 웰컴기프트로 파인애플 타르트를 주세요. 너무 오래돼서 맛은 정확하게 기억은 안 나지만, 꼬맹이가 맛있게 먹었던 것만 기억나네요:)
If you had signed up for "Fan's of MO," the membership program of Mandarin Oriental, they would have provided you with a welcome gift of pineapple tart during check-in. It has been a long time, so I can't remember the taste, but I remember that my kid enjoyed it very much :)
리빙룸과 베드룸으로 나눠져 있는 레지덴셜 스위트랍니다. 어른 2명+아이 1명으로 3명이 숙박하는 걸로 예약했더니, 리빙룸에 엑스트라베드를 준비해 주셨어요. 저희는 아이가 어려서 베드룸에 있는 킹베드 하나로도 셋이 자는데 불편함은 없었지만요:)
The Residential Suite is divided into a living room and a bedroom. We made a reservation for 3 people, including 2 adults and 1 child, and they provided an extra bed in the living room. We were comfortable sleeping on the king bed in the bedroom with all together without the extra bed.:)
리빙룸 책상 위에 준비되어 있던 러블리한 키즈기프트. 꼬맹이에게 주는 손편지와 함께 판다인형을 준비해 놓으셨더라구요. 지금도 저 팬더 인형 보면서 MO 수영장에 갔을 때 받은 거라고 기억한답니다:) 팬데믹 중이라 마스크와 손세정제 같은 어메니티도 준비되어 있었는데요. 저 손세정제는 꽤 유용하게 가방에 넣고 오래 쓴 것 같아요.
On the desk in the living room, there was a lovely kids' gift prepared. It included a handwritten letter for our child and a panda doll. Even now, when my boy see that panda doll, he remembers receiving it at the MO swimming pool :) Due to the pandemic, they also provided amenities such as masks and hand sanitizers. The hand sanitizer was quite useful, and I kept it in my bag and used it for a long time.
리빙룸과 연결된 침실이랍니다. 저희가 이용한 룸은 입구가 리빙룸 쪽과 베드룸 쪽 두 개를 모두 이용할 수 있어 이동할 때 편리했답니다. 넉넉한 침실과 클로젯, 화장실까지. 아이가 신나게 놀기 좋은 넉넉한 사이즈였네요.
It is a bedroom connected to a living room. The room we stayed in had access to both the entrance from the living room and the bedroom, which was convenient for moving around. It had a spacious bedroom, a closet, and even a bathroom. It was a generous size that was perfect for the child to play happily.
무료물은 4병 준비되어 있었고요. 싱가포르답게 티백은 TWG로 준비되어 있었답니다.
There were four free waters prepared. As expected in Singapore, the tea bags were provided by TWG.
욕실 / Bathroom
욕실은 거실에 1개 메인룸에 1개 총 2개였답니다.
There was one bathroom in the living room and one in the main room, for a total of two.
거실에 위치한 화장실은 별도 욕조나 부스가 없는 작은 욕실이고요.
The bathroom located in the living room is a small bathroom without a separate bathtub or booth.
메인 화장실 사진이 없네요^^; 사이즈가 넉넉한 욕조와 부스가 있는 메인 화장실이 하나 더 있답니다. 어메니티도 딥티크에 무료로 제공되는 어메니티들도 아주 훌륭했답니다. 특히, 나무로 만든 빗과 칫솔은 고급스러움의 끝판왕이었지요. 다만, 관리가 잘 되었음에도 오래된 인테리어와 약한 수압은 좀 아쉬웠네요.
There is no picture of the main bathroom, hehe. There is another main bathroom with a spacious bathtub and a booth. The amenities provided for free, including the amenities from DIPTYQUE, were excellent. In particular, the wooden comb and toothbrush were very luxurious. However, despite being well-maintained, the outdated interior and weak water pressure were a bit disappointing.
전망 / View
아무래도 베이에 위치한 호텔인데 베이뷰가 아니라 살짝 아쉬웠어요. 시티뷰라고 하기엔... 오피스빌딩이 보이는 도로라 저녁이 되면 좀 낫긴 했지만, 굳이 커튼까지 열어서 보지 않게 되더라고요^^;
It is located near the bay, but unfortunately, it didn't offer a bay view, which was a bit disappointing. City view was...... well, it faced a road with office buildings, of course, it got slightly better in the evening. However, I didn't feel the need to open the curtains and look outside.
기타 / Miscellaneous
지금이야 다시 뷔페로 전환되었겠지만, 그때만 해도 아직 코로나가 만연해있던 시기. 호텔 조식도 메뉴판으로 주문하면 사전에 준비해 놨다가 직원분들이 가져다주는 시스템이었답니다. 사전에 준비되어있다 보니, 고급스러운 느낌은 물론 맛도 그다지.... 별로였는데 요즘은 그때보단 더 괜찮아졌겠죠..?
Nowadays, it has probably transitioned back to a buffet style, but at that time, the hotel breakfast was ordered through a menu, and the staff would bring it prepared in advance. Since it was prepared in advance, it didn't have the same luxurious feel, and the taste was not particularly impressive. However, I imagine it has improved even more compared to that time, given the current circumstances.

그리고 Bay area에 있는 호텔에 왔으면 꼭 들러야 하는 수영장!! MO수영장은 마리나베이샌즈와 래플스의 고층 건물들이 정면에 보이는 좋은 위치에 있답니다. 팬데믹 때는 수영장도 체크인 전 미리 사전에 시간 예약 후 하루 한번 한 시간만 이용 가능했었다 보니, 꼬맹이를 데리고 낮시간에만 이용해 봤는데요. 저녁시간에 이용할 수 있다면, 싱가포르의 멋진 야경을 잔뜩 느낄 수 있을 것 같아요.
And if you come to a hotel in the Bay area, make sure to visit the swimming pool!! The MO's pool is located in a great position where you can see the Marina Bay Sands, high-rise buildings at Raffles right in front of you. During the pandemic, the swimming pool could only be used for one hr per day, and reservations had to be made in advance before checking in. So, I tried using it only during the daytime with 2yr old boy. If you can use it in the evening, you will be able to enjoy the magnificent skyline of Singapore to the fullest.

전체적으로 너무 만족스러웠던 기억 속 만다린 오리엔탈 싱가포르였답니다. 전체적으로 시설은 낡은 느낌의 호텔이긴 했지만, 잘 관리가 되어있는 것 같았고, 무엇보다 직원분들의 서비스가 너무 좋았었답니다. 미리 준비해놔 주신 케이크와 풍선도 서프라이즈였지만, 그때 직원분이 저희 셋 가족사진을 찍어주셨었거든요. 파일도 받았는데, 숙박 후 일주일쯤 뒤에 집으로 MO에서 저희 가족사진과 함께 손으로 정성스럽게 쓴 편지를 보내셨더라고요. 아직까지 그때 그 사진은 냉장고에 붙여놨을 정도로 저희 가족의 행복했던 숙박기였답니다.
Mandarin Oriental Singapore holds a very satisfying memory for me. Overall, the hotel had a slightly dated feel, but it was well-maintained, and above all, the service provided by the staff was the best. The surprise cake and balloons that were prepared in advance were delightful, but what made it even more special was when one of the staff members took a family photo for us. We received the soft copy, but about a week after our stay, we received a handwritten letter from MO, along with our family photo, sent to our home. We were so touched by the personal touch and thoughtfulness. That photo is still displayed on our refrigerator, reminding us of the happy memories we had during our stay.
