저희는 원래 상대적으로 택시보다 저렴한 Grab이나 Gojek을 이용하여 이동하려고 했습니다만, 밤 11시가 다된 늦은 시간이라 그런지 잡히지 15분 넘게 안 잡히더라고요. 어쩔 수 없이, 택시 카운터에서 택시를 배정받았습니다.
We initially planned to use Grab or Gojek, which are relatively cheaper options compared to taxis, to travel. However, since it was already late at night about 11 PM, we couldn't find a Grab or Gojek ride for more than 15 minutes. As a result, we had no choice but to approach the taxi counter and get a taxi assigned to us.
페낭공항은 아주 작은 공항이었습니다. 입국 심사대와 수화물카운터 그리고 세관검사대까지 모두 붙어있어서 큰 어려움 없이 나왔습니다. 바깥으로 나온 후 왼편으로 가면 버스를 이용할 수 있습니다.
Penang Airport was a very small airport. The immigration counters, baggage claim, and customs were all located together, so we didn't face any major difficulties in navigating through. Once we stepped outside, we found that buses were available.
세관을 통과하고 바깥으로 나오면 바로 오른편에 택시를 잡을 수 있는 공항 택시 카운터가 있습니다. 저기에 가서 직원분께 목적지를 알려주면 가격을 알려주고 배차된 차 번호가 작성된 티켓을 받습니다.
Once we pass through customs and exit, we could find an airport taxi counter immediately to right. we could approach the staff there and informed them of our destination. They provided us with the fare and give us a ticket with the assigned taxi's registration number written on it.
저희가 묵었던 조지타운 호텔까지 MYR44.70(약 13,500원)이었고요. 그랩/고젝으로 체크했을 때는 6인용 큰 차 기준 MYR20인점 감안하면, 확실히 공항 택시가 많이 비싼 편이네요. 밤늦은 시간이라 가격도 더 비쌌던 것 같아요.
The fare to the Georgetown hotel where we stayed was MYR44.70 (approximately USD10). Considering that the Grab/Gojek fare for a large 6-seater car is around MYR20, the airport taxi was significantly more expensive. The late-night hour may have also contributed to the higher price.

바투페링기에서 페낭 공항 가기 / Getting from Batu Ferringhi to Penang Airport
저희는 조지타운에서 2일, 바투페링기에서 1일 묵었는데요. 마지막날 비행기가 아침 9시 30분으로 아주 빠른 시간이라 공항까지 약 1시간이 소요되는 바투페링기에서는 새벽 5시 30분에 출발했답니다.
During our stay, we spent 2 days in Georgetown and 1 day in Batu Ferringhi. Since our flight was scheduled for 9:30 AM, which was quite early, we had to depart from Batu Ferringhi at 5:30 AM to reach the airport, which takes approximately 1 hour.
바투페링기에서 페낭공항은 거리가 워낙 멀었고, 저희 같은 경우 아주 이른 시간의 이동이다 보니 그랩이나 고젝 예약이 전혀 안 되는 상황에다 혹시나 예약이 갑작스럽게 취소될 가능성 때문에 호텔에다 택시 예약을 요청했답니다.
Given the long distance between Batu Ferringhi and Penang Airport and the early morning timing, we were unable to make a Grab or Gojek reservation. Moreover, there was a possibility of last-minute cancellation, so we decided to request a taxi reservation from the hotel.
해도 뜨기 전인 깜깜한 아침. 너무 피곤해서 택시 사진은 커녕 모두 흔들리는 저런 사진이 전부네요. 공항까지는 차가 전혀 막히지 않는 새벽이었는데도 정확히 한시간 소요되었어요.
It was a dark morning before the sun rose. I was so tired that all of my taxi photos were shaky. Even though there was no traffic jam in the early dawn, it took exactly one hour to get to the airport.
바투페링기에서 시내로 가는 길이 2차선의 좁고 구불구불한 도로라 낮에는 차가 많이 막힌다고 해요. 늦은 오후 비행기라도 일찍 공항으로 출발하실 것을 추천합니다.
The road from Batu Ferringhi to the city is a narrow and winding two-lane road, and taxi driver said to be very congested with cars during the daytime. I strongly recommend leaving for the airport early, even if your flight is in the late afternoon.
워낙 어지러운 도로라서 멀미가 심하더라고요. 그래서 저흰 셋이서 트렁크 하나밖에 없었지만, 큰 택시를 요청했고요. 이른 아침 택시라 할증이 50% 더 붙어 금액은 MYR150(약 45,000원)이었습니다. 물론, 택시의 경우, 현금결제만 가능하기 때문에 현금은 꼭 챙겨두세요.
The road was so dizzying that I got very motion sick. So, even though we were only three of us with one trunk, we requested a large taxi. Since it was an early morning taxi, there was a 50% surcharge, and the fare was MYR150 (about USD40). Of course, cash payment is required for taxis, so be sure to have cash with you.
